| How can it benefit business? | Where is it? | The Port of Little Rock is home to Foreign Trade Zone 14. It is located on a 25 acre tract with a 104,000 square foot general purpose building. Material handling and administrative services are available. What is it?A Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) is a site within the United States, in or near a United States Customs port of entry, where foreign and domestic merchandise is generally considered to be in international commerce. The United States Congress created this program to stimulate international trade and thereby create jobs and investment in the United States rather than abroad. What purpose does it serve?Foreign and domestic merchandise may be brought into zones for storage, testing, relabeling, displaying, manufacturing, and the eventual purpose of entry into United States commerce or exportation from the United States. A well organized zone will provide immediate service to the area. Zones are a self-sustaining tool of international commerce offering significant benefits to United States industry and aiding the United States balance of trade. How can it benefit business?The foreign-trade zone program provides an opportunity for United States based firms (operations) to maintain their responsiveness to the competitive forces directing the course of the market(s) in which they compete.
